eSports Community Raises $16million in Funding for Expansion

Community Gaming is an online esports community with over 100,000 registered users. The online gaming platform hosts a variety of esports tournaments for popular gaming titles such as Apex Legends, CounterStrike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty: Warzone, Clash of Clans, Dota 2, FIFA 22, Fortnite, League of Legends, Overwatch, Valorant.

The gaming platform hosts players from all over the world, including Latin America, North America, South Asia, and Africa. Community Gaming acquired a sum of $16m Series A funding through SoftBank Group’s SB chance fund. The funding will enable Community Gaming to grow its user base in Latin America and Southeast Asia.

The Japanese financial institute SoftBank launched the $5 billion fund in 2019. It received an additional $3 billion in funding later that year in September.

Chris Gonsalves, the CEO of Community Gaming, claims that the gaming platform is witnessing the highest organic growth in Latin America. Community Gaming lets people host their own esports tournaments and accepts cryptocurrencies as payment and prize pool for its users. Dogecoin, Ethereum, and Dai are among the many cryptocurrencies available to use on the platform.
