Peterman Hoping To Bounce Back With Chicago

Nathan Peterman Signs With Chicago

If you love a good underdog story, boy have we got one for you!

After a disastrous start to his career in Buffalo, and a forgettable tenure with the Raiders, quarterback Nathan Peterman is getting one more shot in the league. Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reports that Peterman will join Justin Fields and Trevor Siemian in the Chicago Bears quarterback room.

Peterman was a standout at the University of Pittsburgh. During his senior year in 2016, he gained national attention by throwing five touchdowns in a 43-42 victory over the Clemson Tigers. It was the Tigers’ only loss on their way to a national championship.

Sadly, Peterman’s NFL career has been more groans than glory. He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Later that year, in his first career start, Peterman made NFL history (the bad kind) by throwing five interceptions in just one half.

Peterman’s yet to fully recover from that tragic game. He spent the past three seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, where he saw limited action and hasn’t started a regular-season game since 2018.
