Brazil’s Camara finishes 10th in Rome after crash

Brazilian motorsports racing driver Sergio Sette Camara settled for 10th in the Rome Formula E Pole qualifier last weekend.

The 23-year old daredevil had a strong start and almost pulled off one of his iconic qualifying upsets as he was on his way to put Dragon Penske into the duels for the first time this year.

However, an inadvertent turn in the final lap resulted in a crash at the chicane, ultimately sealing his fate. Camara will be starting from 10th come next race ahead of championship leader and Roklt Venturi Racing driver Edoardo Mortara and teammate Lucas di Grassi.

Meanwhile, two-time Formula E champion and DS Techeetah’s Jean-Eric Vergne used a DS-E-Tense FE21 to top the Rome qualifying and secure his 13th series pole position. He clocked in 1’38.268s, outlasting Avalanche Andretti’s Jake Dennis, who crossed the finish line at 1’38.489s.

Completing the top five are Tag Heuer Porsche’s Andre Lotterer who came in at 1’38.361s and Jaguar TCS Racing’s Mitch Evans and Sam Bird, who reached the podium at 1’38.499s and 1’38.425s, respectively.
