Martin Truex Jr. is still looking for his first podium this season

Martin Truex Jr. doesn’t have a podium in 2022

Yet another veteran in NASCAR, Martin Truex Jr., is still not ready to pass the torch to the next generation of drivers. The 2017 NASCAR Cup Series Champion had to wait more than 10 years in order to get into the top 10 in the final standings, which happened in his second season as a part of the Furniture Row Racing team. In 2016 Martin Truex Jr. switched from Chevy to Toyota, which had a slightly negative effect on his performance.

However, he has significantly improved throughout the last 5 years as he finished four times in the top 3 overall. He came really close to winning it all in 2021, but his efforts in the final laps of the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race came up just short as Kyle Larson found a way to retain the first place. Despite not having a podium in 2022 after 9 races, Martin Truex Jr. remains one of the top contenders due to his sheer consistency. The 41-year-old will do his best to get back to winning once again, but this will become tougher as time passes by.
