Live Fast Motorsports has been penalized for losing wheel at Talladega

Car No.88 driven by BJ McLeod, co-owner of Live Fast Motorsports, has caused a tiny incident in Talladega last week. In the 87th out of 188 laps, he lost control of his car, causing the wheel to detach from the board, which resulted in his spinning on the track. He led 2 laps throughout the race, but this minor incident cost him the chance to contest the final victory.

After some serious thoughts, NASCAR decided to penalize this misfortune handing a four-race suspension to Live Fast crew chief Lee Leslie and to some of their crew members in the likes of Alpha Lamin and Kevin Teaf who are responsible for the car maintenance.

BJ McLeod finished in 26th place which was yet another unsatisfying performance this year. He continues his struggles with posting a decent result as he has only one top 20 finish this season following his 19th place in the fifth race in Atlanta. The 38-year-old veteran in NASCAR has 93 races over 7 years in his career with just a single top 10 finish that came in the 2021 Coke Zero Sugar 400 in Daytona Beach last year.
