Toyota gets access to test cars at Le Mans

After speaking up about their dissatisfaction with Le Mans picking Hendrick Motorsports once again as their guests to the upcoming Le Mans competition this and the following year, Toyota got full access to NextGen testing at the iconic track for the 2023-24 edition of the race. Denny Hamlin, who co-owns 23XI Racing with the basketball legend Michael Jordan, was in complete disbelief in March when hearing about the team-up between NASCAR and Hendrick at Le Mans in 2023.

Hamlin continued by stating that it’s not the best way to hear such news for the first time in a press conference. Moreover, he believes that this will give further advantage to Hendrick Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series as they will have the chance to study the performance of their car throughout a 24-hour race which might come in crucial towards finding out some holes in the development process.

However, after stating their displeasure, Toyota was assured that they would get full access to the tests at Le Mans. Everything will be shared with the team so that there will be visibility from any single point. Toyota will be invited to every test that will be conducted on the track.
