William Byron Jr. in the form of his life in 2022

Many of you would question William Byron Jr.’s ability to compete for the NASCAR Cup Series title, but he has proven to be a tough contender this season. The 24-year-old, driving the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro for Hendrick Motorsports, currently sits in 4th place with 295 points from 9 races. Byron was off to a tough start this season with two finishes out of the top 30, but ever since then, he has been racing on a high level.

The youngster has shown consistency and a strong mentality in both races he has won this season. The Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 and the Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 400 have been prime examples of what we can expect from him all year long. On top of everything else, William Byron Jr. had already led more laps this season than he did last year when he reached the podium seven times, winning on one occasion. This comes to show that he has learned how to assert his dominance over his opponents as he has set his eyes on beating his best performance at the end of the year, which is 10th place in 2021.
