There’s no Monday night NFL football for a while but the next two Mondays still have something to offer football fans. The Stanford Cardinal and the Virginia Tech Hokies will meet in the BCS Orange Bowl on January 3rd in a highly anticipated match-up. The game will come from Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida and the Cardinal represent the PAC 10 while the Hokies represent the ACC. Virginia Tech have an 11-2 overall record but they are one of the hottest teams in the nation at the moment. The Hokies dug themselves a hole this season as they lost their first two games of the year but since that time they ran the tables as they rattled off 11 straight wins to ascend where they are now. They are in tough against Stanford however as the Cardinal have only lost to Oregon, a BCS National Championship finalist, and even that game was a road game for Stanford. At 11-1, the Cardinal just missed making a BCS National Championship game appearance this season. Stanford are the favorite (Stan James) heading into the game and ESPN will have the coverage on Monday night starting at 8pm ET.
