Alex Telles has the chance to cement left-back position for both club and country

Telles to make World Cup push

It’s been a tricky few seasons for Brazilian Alex Telles who since moving to Manchester United from Porto at the start of the 2020 – 2021 season has found his playing time limited.

In his two seasons at Old Trafford, Telles has made just 25 appearances, however, the majority of those appearances have come since Ralph Rangnick took over as interim manager of the club.

With Luke Shaw unlikely to play again this season, Telles has a great chance of making the left-back position his own ahead of the arrival of likely new manager Erik Ten Haag.

Manchester United find themselves firmly in a battle to make next season’s Champions League and will need a strong end to the season to make it. Telles who is renowned for his attacking qualities and set-piece delivery played a vital role in ensuring United held off Norwich to stay in the race.

Telles has six international caps to his name and has started two of Brazil’s last three fixtures. Telles will want to make Brazil’s World Cup squad.

With some good displays up until the end of the season, Telles has the chance to lock himself in the starring roles for both club and country.
