Brazil to head to Tokyo for a friendly against Japan

It has been announced that Brazil will be heading to Tokyo this summer to take on the Japanese national side as part of their preparations for the 2022 World Cup.

Despite only being a friendly, the match is set to be a momentous occasion as Japan who are a football-mad nation and bound to pack out the Tokyo Stadium when Brazil are in town.

Brazil will play two matches on their summer tour. First will be the match against the Japanese before five days later Brazil head to Melbourne to take on Argentina in their final World Cup qualifying match. The match in Australia is being played due to the match earlier in the campaign being canceled due to three of Argentina’s players breaching Brazil’s COVID rules.

Brazil who last won the World Cup in 2002 are currently the favorites to lift the famous trophy. The build-up to the tournament will most likely be dominated by Neymar as this is going to be his last ever World Cup.

Brazil will start their World Campaign on the 24th of November against Serbia. They will then play Switzerland on the 28th before concluding the group phase against Cameroon on the 2nd of December.
