Arsenal and Manchester United Locked in Battle to Sign Lautaro Martinez

Lautaro Martinez Poised for Premier League Move?

Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly set to join the race to sign Inter Milan’s prolific Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez this summer.

Inter Milan, the 24-year-old’s current club, have given up hope of hanging onto their prized asset, and have laid the foundations of a bidding war by revealing they would accept bids of around $88 million for the frontman.

Martinez has notched 17 goals in 25 Serie A appearances so far during the 2021/22 campaign, taking his tally to 64 in barely four seasons with Inter. But the loss of former head coach Antonio Conte and strike partner Romelu Lukaku is thought to have led the Argentine to seek pastures new.

Mikel Arteta wants the forward to act as the focal point of his attacking play at Arsenal, while incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is also rumoured to be a big fan of Martinez’s talents.

And it has been suggested that he could use Anthony Martial, currently out on loan at Spanish side Sevilla, as bait in any bid for the former Racing Club striker.
