Fernando Llorente, who has been linked with Arsenal and Juventus, has hinted that he could be prepared to perform a U-turn and stay at Athletic Bilbao.

Bilbao last week revealed that Llorente, who has just one year left on his current deal at San Mames, has no plans to sign a new contract and wants to leave the Spanish club.

Arsenal and Juventus, along with Manchester City, are all believed to be keen on signing the 27-year-old.

Juve are seen as favourites to sign Llorente, and his agent recently admitted that a move to Italy is an option.

But speaking to Itasportpress.it, the the forward has suggested that he is now prepared to consider extending his stay with Bilbao.

“I do not know who talks about me,” Llorente said.

“Right now I am just thinking about my team.

“I am happy to play at Athletic Bilbao because I feel an important player and I will continue here.

“My contract renewal? Let’s see.”

Bilbao had insisted Llorente would only be allowed to leave this month should his €36million buy-out clause be met, with Juve reportedly only prepared to pay €20m.

Man Utd had also been linked with the striker before completing the £24million signing of Van Persie last week.
