Brazil and Argentina World Cup preparations hit by friendly cancellation

Brazil and Argentina friendly cancelled

Both Brazil and Argentina’s World Cup preparations have been thrown into disarray following the cancellation of their proposed friendly that was due to take place in Melbourne.

The match was due to take place as a part of Brazil’s Asian Tour where the Samba Stars were due to take on Japan, South Korea, and Argentina.

The match against Argentina which was due to be held in front of a capacity crowd at Melbourne’s MCG stadium was due to be played on June 11th.

According to reports, it was the Argentinian FA that cancelled the fixture – a reason for the cancellation has yet to be given.

Brazil who are the bookmaker’s favorite to lift the World Cup later this year has been drawn in a group that will see them play Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon.

Brazil are hoping that they can still play a fixture on the 11th and are looking to play against an African team which would give them the ideal preparation ahead of their match with Cameroon.

A venue for the match is still to be confirmed.
