One of the biggest derbies in the Colombian league takes place this Sunday at the Atanasio Girardot stadium, as Atlético Nacional play América de Cali.

The current leaders of the Colombian Categoría Primera A, Atlético Nacional, know they will have a difficult test against their old rival in the 272nd edition of the ‘Clásico Popular’. ‘El Verde’ won their last meeting 2-0.

The ‘Red Devils’ will hope to get revenge and put an end to Atlético’s five-match unbeaten run and damage their title hopes. It is a big test for América’s new coach, Alexandre Guimarães, who will begin his second spell at the club after the resignation of Juan Carlos Osorio.
Atlético, led by Hernán Darío Herrera, will hope to welcome back four players following injury; Jarlan Barrera, Dorlan Pabón, Jhon Duque and Álvaro Angulo.

Two teams hoping for a victory for the Cali team will be Deportes Tolima and Millonarios. Both are on 29 points and must win their matches to have any chance of going top. Millonarios host La Equidad on Friday, while on Saturday Deportes Tolima must recover from their defeat in the Copa Libertadores at home to Rionegro.
