Deportivo Cali move into first place after beating Junior 4-1

Deportivo Cali beat Junior

Defending champions Deportivo Cali recovered from going a goal behind to secure a convincing 4-1 victory at Junior.

Junior took the lead in the 19th minute when former Santa Fe centre-back, Johannys Liceth Muñoz found the back of the net.

The ‘Azucareras’ equaliser arrived almost immediately, thanks to Manuela González’s goal in the 23rd minute. They secured the victory thanks to one of the players of the season for Deportivo Cali and the Colombian team, Tatiana Ariza, who scored two goals. The remaining goal was made by the talented Farlyn Caicedo at the end of the first half.

With this victory, Deportivo Cali remain as the clear leaders with 31 points, two points ahead of their pursuers Santa Fe and América de Cali.

In their next match Deportivo Cali will host Atlético Nacional, Santa Fé will welcome Junior and América de Cali will visit Club Llaneros.
