Ipswich have Cole Skuse and Freddie Sears (both knocks) available for tonight’s game.
Birmingham manager Gary Rowett has a fully-fit squad to choose from, with Andy Shinnie in contention to start.
What they’ve said ahead of kick-off:
Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy: “Skusey trained today and we’re optimistic that he’s fine.
“Ryan’s been working with the physios but is more positive that he will be okay than he was earlier in the week, so we will look at him before the game and make a decision.
“Freddie is back- he was desperate to play at Leeds but I made the decision to leave him out for him. I was never going to risk him because he’s an important player and we will need him for other games.”
Gary Rowett: “We’re only early in the season and that’s the one thing that I’ve stressed to all the players. Jon [Toral] has come in and provided assists, scored two goals and has had lots of opportunities. I think a lot of our attacking play has gone through Jon and that number ten position.
“But we also know Shinns is brilliant in that position as well so it’s nice to have those options. There are going to be times when I think Shinns will be more suitable to play in certain games and sometimes Jon, but when you’re winning games it’s difficult to change it.
“That was probably my hardest decision because my gut feeling was to play Shinns on Tuesday night (against Nottingham Forest) and then I decided against it at the last minute, but certainly he’ll come into my thinking on Friday.”
