Last minute win for Diriangén over Managua to go joint top

Diriangén win 3-2 against Managua

Diriangén clinched an important victory over Managua to go level on points with Real Estelí at the top of the Liga Primera de Nicaragua. The Caciques scored in the final minute through Jaime Moreno to win 3-2 against the team from the capital.

Managua took an early lead with a goal from Federico Vasilchik in the sixth minute. Just before halftime, the referee awarded a controversial penalty to Diriangén that Moreno converted.

In the second half, a tremendous volley from Abner Acuña gave the lead to Diriangén in the 68th minute, but Vasilchik struck once more to level the game. With the game heading for a draw, Nicaraguan striker Moreno scored a great header to seal the victory for Diriangén and silence the home support at the National Stadium.

Real Estelí missed their chance to stay ahead at the top during their visit to ART Jalapa. They lost 2-1 against the team fighting to avoid relegation.
