Man Utd-Kaka Twitter rumours continue as MUFC favourites to sign playmaker

Manchester United are the huge favourites with bookmakers to sign playmaker Kaka this month following a frentic 24 hours of speculation about the Real Madrid playmaker.

Kaka was trending on Twitter for most of Sunday as rumours circulated that the Brazil international was on his way to Old Trafford on a season-long loan deal.

Bookmakers Sky Bet on Sunday afternoon had reacted to the thousands of tweets and claims of insider information by slashing their odds about the 30-year-old moving to Old Trafford from 6/1 right down to 8/11, before cutting the odds further to just 1/2 on Sunday evening after reporting plenty of activity from their customers.

Real Madrid are known to be prepared to let Kaka leave the Bernabeu this month as they would like to get his six-figure weekly wage off the books, plus they are looking to make room in their squad for Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric.

And although it appeared Sunday’s speculation was restricted to Twitter, on Monday morning, the Daily Mail reported that Kaka has been offered to the Red Devils.

And according to Monday’s report, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is giving “serious consideration” to signing the former AC Milan star, who was again trending on the social networking site for some time on Monday, although the Scot is said to have reservations about his form and fitness.

Kaka’s £200,000-a-week wages would also potentially be another stumbling block even if Ferguson is interested in a loan deal.

Although neither United or Los Blancos have commented on a deal, bookmakers on Monday afternoon were taking no chances, with Sky Bet and Bet Victor both offering just 1/3 on United being Kaka’s next club should he quit the Spanish capital before the summer transfer window closes.

United lead the race ahead of former club Milan (11/4) and big-spending Paris Saint-Germain (12/1).

Kaka has also been linked with Chelsea and Manchester City, while Galatasaray are also keen.
