Racing Club 4-1 Sarmiento

Racing Club continued their impressive start to phase one of the Primera División as they beat Sarmiento 4-1.

Despite the final score line, the league leaders in Group A were made to work hard for the win as they came from a goal down.

Sarmiento opened the scoring in the 32nd minute through Julián Brea and were looking comfortable before they were reduced to ten men in the 58th minute.

Guido Mainero was shown a straight red card following a reckless challenge and this changed the game in favor of the team from Avellaneda.

Racing dominated the game with the one-man advantage and finally broke down the resolute defense of Sarmiento in the 72nd minute through Enzo Copetti.

They went ahead through Tomás Chancalay’s penalty and wrapped up the three points with two further goals from Coppetti and Javier Marcelo Correa.

The win maintained Racing’s unbeaten start to the season and cemented their position at the top of the table.
