Conte Coming Home, Signs With Ciudad Voley

It’s official, Facundo Conte is coming home!

On Saturday, Buenos Aires volleyball club Ciudad Voley announced that Facundo Conte will be donning their blue and white kits this season. Conte, a star outside hitter and a fixture on Argentina’s national team, has not played club volleyball in his home country for 15 years.

“This beautiful trip started 15 years ago,” Conte said in an Instagram video. “Volleyball has taken me around the world and I got to play in some of the best teams and leagues. I’ve been fortunate to fulfil several of my dreams, but something was still pending – returning home. Ciudad is where it all started for me, when volleyball was just a game and became a passion. So, I decided it was time to return home.”

Conte is one of Argentina’s most popular volleyball players, representing the country in three Summer Olympic Games. In addition to club play, Conte will soon begin preparations with the rest of the Argentinian men’s national team for the 2022 Volleyball Nations League.
