JGR suffered huge misfortune in Dover

JGR’s Misfortune in Dover

The race at the Dover Motor Speedway on Monday didn’t go as planned for the Joe Gibbs Racing team. Featuring fantastic drivers in the likes of Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, Martin Truex Jr., and Kyle Busch, JGR has been considered to be one of the top contenders for the manufacturers’ championship racing with Toyota. However, misfortune struck them on the rain-delayed race in Dover over the weekend as they were looking quite promising throughout the day.

Christopher Bell ended up in 4th place, but besides him, everyone else from the team suffered some really unlucky events. Denny Hamlin fell victim to a loose wheel that stopped him from being a contender for the final victory, thus finishing 21st. On the other hand, Kyle Busch was unfortunate during a caution period when he found himself a lap down due to poor timing. On top of everything else, Martin Truex Jr. was also a big favorite to clinch his first podium of the season, but his battle with Ross Chastain didn’t go harmless as he spun out and grabbed only a 12th place in the end.
