Ryan Blaney wins the All-Star Race in Texas

Ryan Blaney wins the All-Star Race

Ryan Blaney defied the odds in Texas as he managed to keep Denny Hamlin and Austin Cindric behind him to win the 2022 All-Star race. The 28-year-old driver for Team Penske took advantage of a gap that was left by the Stage 2 winner and his teammate, Austin Cindric, to go into first place and never give it back. However, Blaney had to deal with an unnecessary restart at the end of the race when Ricky Steinhouse Jr. caused a caution on the track, and despite waving the finish flag, the stewards called for a 2-lap extension.

The closest driver to Chase Elliott in the overall standings took matters into his hands and didn’t allow for a comeback from his opponents. Denny Hamlin enjoyed yet another decent All-Star performance, finishing 2nd, while Austin Cindric came in third. Meanwhile, Ross Chastain and

Kyle Busch suffered a huge hit with 3 laps to go in Stage 2, when the latter’s car lost power and the third-placed driver for Trackhouse Racing Team had nowhere to go and bumped into his colleague. It was one of the biggest hits of the season, but fortunately, both of them went unharmed in the situation.
