Chalatenengo and Águila finishes in 0-0 stalemate

The match between the two leaders in the Primera División ended in a dull 0-0 draw as neither team could take advantage in the title race.

The draw between Chalatenego and Águila gave third-placed Alianza the opportunity to get closer as they beat Platense 1-0.

Chalatanengo will be the happier of the two sides as they arrived at the match without being able to count on five of their most important players because of injuries and suspensions. Nor could they count on their coach, Erick Dowson Prado, who had been sanctioned. Águila were also hit by injury as they were unable to call upon star striker Gerson Mayén who was absent.

While both teams had chances to score, neither couldfind the net, and the most attractive match of the weekend ended in a tie. The last five minutes were played with Águila down to 10 men following the expulsion of Lizandro Claros.

Both teams sit on 34 points, with Águila ahead on goal difference.
