Colo-Colo beat Cobresal to move back above Unión Española

Colo Colo beat Cobresal

Colo-Colo beat Cobresal 2-1 at home to move back above Unión Española at the top of the table. The two league leaders appear evenly matched so the win for ‘El Cacique’ was essential in their season-long battle.

The three goals all came in an entertaining first half, which also saw both teams reduced to 10 players. All the goals were scored by Argentine players.

Colo-Colo opened the scoring with an early goals from defender Emiliano Amor. The equaliser for Cobresal came from former Godoy Cruz player, Alejandro Camargo. The decisive goal for the home side was scored by their young midfielder Pablo Solari.

It was not all good news for Colo Colo though and their coach, Gustavo Quinteros, will need to make changes for their next match after losing two key players. Peruvian striker Gabriel Costa was sent off and they also lost Argentine striker Juan Lucero due to injury.
