Jefferson Lerma plays part in helping secure Bournemouth promotion

Lerma is back in the Premier League

After two years away from the Premier League, Bournemouth are back in the big time after securing promotion following a 1-0 victory over fellow promotion rivals Nottingham Forest.

Colombian Jefferson Lerma who is now in his 4th season with the club has turned out to be one of the most successful signings in Bournemouth’s history.

A mainstay in the team, Lerma who is still a permanent fixture for the Colombian national team, deserves enormous credit for staying loyal to the Cherries despite not playing at the highest level of English football.

Lerma has stood out in the Championship with his ability to tackle and break up play proving to be valuable in Bournemouth’s promotion push.

Lerma has had his injury issues this season but has still played in the majority of Bournemouth’s league games this season.

Bournemouth have a tough task ahead of them if they are to try and stay in the Premier League next season. Lerma who is still just 27, will need to be at his very best if the Cherries are to defy expectations and beat the dreaded drop.
