Luis Diaz looking to be the difference maker ahead of Champions League Final

Luis Diaz looking to be the difference-maker ahead of the Champions League Final

It was a signing that was originally slated for the summer, but Luis Diaz’s arrival in the January transfer window has been lauded as an excellent piece of business.

Liverpool always had the exciting Colombian at the top of their transfer shortlist and were fully intent on bringing Diaz to the club this summer, however, once word got out that Diaz was dangerously close to joining Tottenham, Liverpool bought forward their plans and ended up getting their man.

Joining for a total of £37 million (which will rise if certain add ons are triggered), Diaz has already established himself as a key component of Jurgen Klopp’s starting eleven.

Diaz has wasted no time at all at getting up to speed with the hustle and bustle of the Premier League with the Colombian scoring four times in thirteen appearances. He has also scored twice in the six appearances he has made for Liverpool in the Champions League.

Despite not even being at the club for six months, Diaz has the chance to write himself into Liverpool folklore if he can score in the Champions League Final against Real Madrid.

The Colombian is almost certain to start and will look to cause a nuisance with his quality and hard work off the ball.

The futures of both Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah are still in doubt, but with Diaz they have an attacking option with just as much quality.
