Magallanes win 4-0 and maintain Primera B leadership

Magallanes win 4-0 against Barnechea

League leaders Magallanes had a convincing victory at home against Barnechea as they won 4-0.

On Saturday, the Luis Navarro Avilés Municipal Stadium was the perfect place to see a total football display from the team from San Bernando. The team led by Nicolás Nuñez achieved a fundamental victory which maintains their push for promotion.

The scoring was opened by Felipe Flores, a former Barnechea player, in the 24th minute. The remaining three goals came in the second half through Manuel Vicuña (67’), Julián Alfaro (83’) and César Cortés (90+1’).

The win moved Magallanes seven points clear at the top. Rangers moved into second place with a 3-2 win against Deportes Temuco. Cobreloa and Union San Felipe are in third and fourth, but do have games in hand on the teams above them so will hope that they can still catch Magallanes.

In their next match, Magallanes will visit mid-table Temuco.
