Miguel Almiron secures Newcastle’s safety for another season

Almiron nets first goal of the season

Arguably the most interesting club in the world of football is Newcastle. Armed with significant levels of investment due to their new owners, Newcastle look set for a summer of spending and many pundits are curious to see who Newcastle will target.

Newcastle can now turn their eye towards the summer now that they know they will be in the Premier League next season. Eddie Howe’s men recorded their sixth home win in a row and have moved to the magical 40-point mark.

The hero of the hour was Paraguayan forward Miguel Almiron who scored his first league goal of the season as Newcastle snuck past a jaded Crystal Palace side 1-0.

Almiron who is a regular for his country has enjoyed a mixed time of it in his four years with Newcastle. Often rotated, Almiron has managed just 25 appearances in the league this season.

Newcastle will have major plans this summer and an assault on the European places will be the objective next season. Almiron who has his suitors in both America and in Spain could be one of those players deemed surplus to requirements.

It looks set to be an interesting summer ahead.
