Preview of the Upcoming Volleyball Challenge Event in Brazil

The Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour is heading to one of the sport’s most storied countries. The Brazilian city of Itapema will host the second Challenge tournament of the season from Thursday through Sunday.

Itapema, in Brazil’s southern area, has become a popular international beach volleyball resort in recent years. In 2018, 2019, and 2021, the Meia Praia Beach hosted FIVB World Tour events. As a result, the city will now be the first in South America to hold a Beach Pro Tour competition.

Itapema’s beach volleyball history dates back to 2017 when the city staged its inaugural event on the Brazilian National Tour. It was an instant hit, with supporters crowding the stadium every day and creating a lively and entertaining environment for the players on the court and around the city. Various factors contribute to the city’s success. One is that the matches in Itapema are always held within a few steps of the ocean.
