Sebastián Solé No Longer On Argentine National Team

Sebastián Solé Leaves Argentine Squad

Volleyball star Sebastián Solé’s career with the Argentine National Team reportedly came to an end this week after the middle blocker gained Italian citizenship.

Solé has long been one of Argentina’s best-recognized figures on the international stage. He began his career with the Argentine Youth Team in 2007 and debuted with the Senior Team three years later playing in the FIVB World League. Since then, Solé has represented Argentina at three FIVB World Championships and two Olympic games.

At the club level, Solé bounced around South America and Europe until 2020, when he joined Sir Safety Umbria Volley, an Italian club based in Perugia.

Solé last played for the Argentine National Team at the 2018 Tokyo Olympics, when the squad won the bronze medal. The middle blocker seemed to anticipate that he’d played his last game in the Argentine blue and white, telling TyC Sports, “It may be my last match, I don’t know.”
