Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Update

History Repeating Itself

The fourth leg of the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour – a Challenge event in Itapema, Brazil – ended spectacularly, with Brazilians Andre Loyola and George Wanderley winning an intense gold medal match at the Meia Praia Beach.

Andre and George had everything going for them against Czechs Ondrej Perusic and David Schweiner in the gold medal match. They played in front of a centre court packed with loud and passionate Brazilian supporters. The Brazilians were playing in a city where they were accustomed to winning, and they had the crowd’s unwavering support.

The Czechs refused to give up without a fight, and the match was decided in a tie-breaker. With a final score of 15-12 securing their victory, Andre and George, who had won the previous FIVB World Tour tournament in Itapema last November, enjoyed yet another success.
The next Challenge event will be held in Doha, Qatar, from May 5th to May 8th.
