Bruno Guimeraes nets two in crucial Newcastle win

Bruno Guimeraes will potentially be long remembered as the man who kickstarted the Newcastle revolution.

Newcastle have been transformed thanks to the new owners that the club now has. Banked by huge investment from Saudi Arabia, the relegation battles that Newcastle fans have been used to should be a thing of the past, Newcastle fans now have the prospect of Champions League battles on the horizon.

In the last transfer window, Newcastle were rooted towards the bottom of the table but despite this, they were still able to attract the talents of Bruno Guimeraes from Lyon. It was a risky move for the Brazilian to make considering Newcastle’s lowly league position when he joined.

Guimeraes has fourteen caps for Brazil and looks to be on his way to the next World Cup and in Newcastle’s last match against Leicester he showed he was a class apart. Easily the best player on the pitch, Guimeraes pulled all the strings and rounded off a great performance with two fantastic goals.

Guimeraes’ winner should look to have secured Newcastle’s survival for next season.
