Major Storylines Heading Into 2022 NFL Draft

NFL Draft: What You Need To Know

Just a few hours remain until the 2022 NFL Draft kicks off in Las Vegas. Here are the stories you need to be following:

First Pick: The Jacksonville Jaguars have the #1 pick in tonight’s draft. After a disastrous three-win season, the Jaguars need game-changing talent now if they want to take full advantage of quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s rookie deal. The Jaguars are expected to pick either Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson or Georgia’s Trayvon Walker, but have needs at just about every position, muddling experts’ predictions.
First Quarterback: Pitt’s Kenny Pickett is considered the most pro-ready quarterback in the draft, possibly even a Week 1 starter, while many deem that Liberty’s Malik Willis possesses the most upside. The Panthers, Seahawks, and Steelers are all in the market for a franchise quarterback.
Trades Up/Down: Before night’s end, the draft order will likely change drastically. Look for the Giants and Panthers to trade down, and the Eagles to trade up.

The 2022 NFL Draft begins at 8 PM ET on April 28, with coverage airing on CBS, the NFL Network, ESPN, and ESPN Deportes.
