NFL Draft Profile QB Kenny Pickett

Draft Profile Kenny Pickett

The almost consensus top quarterback in the upcoming NFL draft is Pittsburgh’s Kenny Pickett. After an excellent college career, Pickett has elevated himself to be in consideration to be the
first quarterback taken. Let’s look at the good and the bad of what Kenny Pickett can offer a franchise.

The Pros:
Pickett is considered a great team guy, and if his play is high enough to be an NFL starter, he would definitely be captain material. He is solid with his decision-making and has above-average athleticism.

The Cons:
Pickett measured with a very small hand size (8.5″) at the NFL combine. Many suspect this led to his staggering 38 fumbles in his college career. He is also older than your average top QB prospect at 24. While he is considered to have a high floor, there are questions about how high his ceiling is.

Overview:
Pickett probably has a high floor as a guy who can be a good game manager but won’t be an MVP quarterback that most teams hope for from the top quarterback in the NFL draft.
